‘Juice’ a Nanny State Food Cop

Juice a Nanny Stater!Republican candidate for the North Carolina State House, Steve Henion, wants voters to send a symbolic message to his incumbent opponent, Grier Martin III (D-Wake), who is one of the nanny state legislators that recently voted to enact legislation banning juice products and chocolate milk from child care facilities across the state.

According to Henion, there are much more pressing issues, “like job losses, a budget crisis & high dropout rates,” for state legislators to be occupying their time and efforts with versus taking control away from parents to determine what types of beverages their young children consume at day care.

Martin’s nanny state power grab on parents’ rights has prompted Henion’s campaign to send his opponent “one juice box for each $25 donation we receive” in the hopes of filling his office from wall-to-wall.

“It will only take 1,000 juice boxes to fill Grier Martin III’s office and save the kids from 100,000 calories,” Henion wrote on his website. “REMEMBER: This is for the children.”
